This presentation is from the speaker's thesis which looks at different electric vehicle (EV) case studies in WA, relating an EV attributed electric load at different market penetrations of EVs in WA, and how the South-West Interconnected System (SWIS - the WA power grid) will deal with that. Several factors are considered including usage behaviours of EV drivers to understand the impact across SWIS daily load curves, considering peak demand and capacity.

It is done in the form of a model which combines the variables and outputs the daily grid demands that will need to be met under the various scenarios.

Khush has just finished his Masters of Mechanical Engineering at UWA, and the presentation topic is from his final year thesis project. The project was done in collaboration with Synergy (WA State Electric Generator/Retailer), where Khush interned in the summer prior. He has a passion for renewable and sustainable energy which was explored through the engineering course at UWA, and has taken him to work for Snowy Hydro Limited.
