Policy2Pavement

Policy2Pavement (P2P) is a walkability assessment tool assisting in the creation of active and vibrant streetscapes. The model was developed in partnership by CLOUSTON Associates, One Eighty Sport and Leisure Solutions, and Visualvoice, a Melbourne based wayfinding / walking maps consultancy.

The P2P model has evolved and been refined over the last few years, including application through two major projects in Sydney and Adelaide.

In this presentation, Cassandra Denney, Clouston Associates will provide an overview of the Policy2Pavement initiative, a tool recently developed to aid the creation of vibrant streetscapes.

Meet Engibear

This engineer dreams of designs and starts building a Bearbot to help him at work.

Early versions fail – often spectacularly.

However, Engibear keeps trying.

A bonus for attendants at this event will be a short presentation from the creator of Engibear, Andrew King.

Engibear's Dream is a children's book recently published by Engineers Media and launched in August at an event at Moggill State School.

Andrew will talk to us about Engibear's inception, and will tell us all about Engibear's dream.

He'll also give us a bit of a story as to why Engineers Australia support this book and plans for others like it - and may ask us a few interesting questions, such as:

·         Are children shying away from maths and science in schools?

·         Is there an engineering  skills shortage?

Engibear's Dream can be purchased via the Engineers Australia online bookstore EA Books or  Booktopia.

You can view Andrew's presentation here (*28MB attachment).
