Oceanlinx is a company that has developed a technology to convert the energy in ocean waves into electricity. The technology is based on the concept of the Oscillating Water Column (OWC), which effectively acts like an artificial blowhole.

SSEE AGM will be held before the technical presentation. This is your chance to get on the committee and move the SEng forward.
We are looking to continue our technical presentation schedule but are also interested in new ideas and things we can do next year. This could include:
- informal networking sessions (aka drinks!) for environmental practitioners to be
held every couple of months
- deciding whether we are ready to run the SEng Conference in 2013
- building stronger links with other environmental organisations

We especially wish to thank the speakers and facilitators who gave their valuable time and insight to contribute to the Forum.
This years event is being hosted by the University of Queensland at the St Lucia Campus. The purpose of the night is to allow Environmental Engineering and Science undergraduate students from Queensland universities to feature their thesis and project work to an audience of industry professionals and fellow students.
The event also allows a demonstration of the directions in current environmental research and to show the diversity and quality of content in thesis studies from all over Queensland.
One of the biggest environmental challenges we face is planning for sustainable population and urban growth.
The New Rouse Hill (Rouse Hill), a development in Sydney’s North West, has won a host of local and international sustainability awards. It has advanced innovative approaches to energy and water management, biodiversity, town centre development, and the opportunities for retail tenants such as Coles, Woolworths.
Ideas from Rouse Hill have flowed through to developments such as Green Square Town Centre and Oran Park, Barangaroo and Charlestown Square.
