Anna Nicholson from ARUP participated in the recent Hand in Hand trip to Tibet with 100 professional women. The event raised approximately $500k for the people of Tibet and assisted with valuable housing. Anna will present her video diary of the trip along with information of the next event to be held in Vietnam.
Waterways - in the aftermath of the Brisbane floods
In response to the Brisbane floods experienced earlier this year the SEng and the Water Panel have combined to assemble a range to speakers to address waterways issues in relation to the Brisbane floods.
Attendees will gain a better understanding of the conditions that contributed to the floods and the resulting significant impacts.

Mandatory Disclosure of Building Tuning and AGM
This technical seminar was on the proposed mandatory disclosure scheme which will require that commercial buildings (in excess of 2000m2) disclose information about their operational energy use at point of sale or lease, and provided an explanation of the scheme and needs to comply.
Procedural changes and systems upgrades which can result in meeting building energy use requirements were presented. Max explained the ways in which to maximise the effects of building tuning in practical ways that can deliver savings and improve NABERS ratings.
Green Materials, Green Tag and LCA
The first speaker, David Baggs, is the Director at Ecospecifier Global and will outline the service that simplifies the green building industry's product research time and integrates products into Green Building rating schemes. Ecospecifier Global is committed to raise standards for green building materials and methods with the introduction of their four tier GreenTag LCA certification process and GreenRate 2 Level GBCA accreditated third party certification system.
